Announcing:

A total renovation and revitalization of ScreenSite.org, a resource for
those who teach and those who study film, television, and new media.

ScreenSite.org features:

* Over 200 syllabuses.
* Listings of dozens of college film/TV programs.
* Academic job announcements.
* Calls for conference papers, book proposals, etc..
* Calls for film/video festivals and contests.
* Articles about online resources of interest to educators/students in
screen studies.
* A Web directory of over 800 links to screen-studies resources:  video
distributors, journals, pedagogical products, research
guides/bibliographies, publishers, and more.
* A film/TV encyclopedia/glossary.
* ScreenSite Review: A journal of the history, pedagogy, and theory of
film/TV/new media. (Currently in the planning stages.)
* Fresh entertainment news culled from the BBC -- updated daily.

We took the still-current data from the original ScreenSite--launched in
1994--and constructed a new, database-driven service.  By using
content-management software we are able to offer:

* Forums: Bulletin boards for discussing the research, teaching, and study
of film and TV.
* FAQs: Frequently asked questions about film/TV resources.
* RSS feeds: RSS (Really Simple Syndication) aggregators may be used to
keep track of ScreenSite activity.
* Streamlined site navigation.

Most significantly, it's much easier for us to accept submissions and
suggestions from ScreenSite users.

We encourage you to submit your syllabuses or post an announcement to our
forums or send us reviews of online resources you find useful.  And if
you're interested in participating in ScreenSite.org as an editor, please
let me know.
