ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN FILM STUDIES
The Département d'histoire de l'art et d'études cinématographiques de
l'Université de Montréal is seeking a full-time professor in Film Studies
(subject to budgetary approval).
RESPONSIBILITIES : - Teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels
- Directing theses and dissertations
- Developing research projects as soon as
position starts
REQUIREMENTS : - Ph.D. in Film Studies
- Experience in film directing
- Experience in teaching at the academic level
- Functional knowledge of the techniques of image
and sound as well as well of the film production process
as a whole
- Ability to teach practical courses of
cinematographic creation and courses relative to
the aesthetic stakes involved in direction (mise-en-scène,
sound, editing, etc.) as well as courses in film history,
theory or criticism
- A good knowledge of French language is required
SALARY : The Université de Montréal offers a competitive
