The University of Texas at Austin Department of Radio-Television-Film seeks
to fill a tenure-track position, beginning Fall 2003, in television studies
and/or the cultural history of broadcasting. A Ph.D. in media studies or a
related field is preferred, along with a strong record in publishing and
teaching, and experience working with advanced graduate and undergraduate
students. Salary commensurate with experience. We will begin reviewing
applications on November 1 and will continue until the position is filled.

The Department of Radio-Television-Film has 22 permanent faculty,
approximately 900 undergraduate majors & 150 graduate students pursuing
Ph.D., M.A. or M.F.A. degrees. RTF offers courses in film & television
studies, international communication, telecommunication technology &
policy, gender & sexuality, race and ethnic issues in communication, film &
video production, screenwriting, and digital media. The University of Texas
