Hi,

I am currently doing my masters at the University of Natal (Durban,
South Africa. My dissertation is a comparative study of two women
filmmakers of the Indian diaspora: Mira Nair and Deepa Mehta. I believe
that they are two very important and interesting directors who are
worthy of consideration in your colleague's research. Furthermore, I am
working toward a specialisation in films made by Indian women and have a
list of these female filmmakers. If your colleague is interested in this
specific area, s/he can visit the following website:
http://www.umiacs.umd.edu/users/sawweb/sawnet/cinema.html#filmakers

I hope that this is helpful.

Regards,

I have a colleague who is interested in researching women directors,
and I thought members of the list might be able to identify important
women directors he should consider in his work.

Thanks,

B. Irwin
