Shot in Los Angeles, Dr. Susan Block's public-access (and now webcast) show ran into problems after the local cable company was taken over by Adelphia Communications.  For the www.counterpunch.org website, she recently wrote a couple of articles that might be of interest to those involved in the study of television, censorship, industry, independent media and/or sex-positive feminism.  

"Au Revoir, Bernard Parks: A Farewell to My Chief," dated April 23, reflects on Bernard Parks being ousted from the LAPD, which had twice raided her studio, while "The Block Curse Strikes Again! Adelphia Going Down," dated April 27, discusses the cable firm in the wake of its own corruption scandal.  

Today, by the way, marks the tenth anniversary of the Los Angeles uprising, which followed the criminal verdict of not-guilty for the police officers charged with beating Rodney King, an incident caught on videotape and broadcast widely.
