Try Vivian Sobchack's article "The Scene of the Screen: Envisioning
Cinematic and Electronic 'Presence'" (available in Electronic Media and
Technoculture ed. John Caldwell). Also see her book "The Address of the
Eye: A Phenomenology of Film Experience."

Subject: film and phenomenology

Hello,

Could anyone recommend any articles regarding film and phenomenology? I
am particularly interested in the virtual experience given by film that
nonetheless is felt to be a visceral, lived experience, and what this
suggests about the psychology of film viewership and perception in general
(use of aural and visual alone still seems to suggest or compensate for
fuller perceptual experience).

Thanks,
Diane
