Robert Frank's PULL MY DAISY is probably the best-known first-hand film
featuring Kerouac, Ginsberg, et al. It, and a couple dozen other
documentaries, are listed at:
http://www.kerouac.com/

There's also a long list of resources from the UC-Berkeley library at:
http://www.lib.berkeley.edu/MRC/BeatGen.html#Beat%20Sensibility

HEART BEAT (1980) is about the love triangle between Kerouac, Neal
Cassady and his wife.

This is not really a recommendation, but by contrast you might look at
stuff like THE BEAT GENERATION (with Steve Cochran and Mamie Van
Doren!), and THE SUBTERRANEANS, from Kerouac's novel.

Cronenberg's version of THE NAKED LUNCH includes thinly-veiled
portraits of Kerouac, Ginsberg, and of course Burroughs himself, among
others.
