In my film of Timon of Athens, I want to incorporate public domain images of human atrocities. This would include some of the following:

-Nazi Holocaust footage
-Burning of Vietnamese civilians homes
-World Trade Center attacks
-War with Mexico

This last one is the most difficult. It was around Muybridge's time so there's no film of it, and surely no photos that make it obvious that the United States was the aggressor. I don't know if such images, still or motion exist at all in reenactment. While _Ravenous_ indicts this war it doesn't show much of it, and that would definitely not be PD.

If anyone has any other suggestions of where to obtain footage or images of a quality acceptable of these things (aside from WTC--that's obvious) that I could use, please let me know. Also, if you think there are any showable examples of human atrocities (preferably not dealing with individuals) that I haven't mentioned right now. The only thing I'm thinking now that I have access to is that bit of _I'll Never Forget What's'isname_ with the horrible footage of corpse being dumped into mass grave by a bulldozer during WWII. Is it legal to put that in if Orson Welles's speech isn't there?
