     FILM Session -- SAMLA 2001
     Call for Papers

I am soliciting papers for an open session on film which will be
held at the annual SAMLA convention at the Westin Peachtree Plaza
Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia from November 9-11, 2001. Any topic of
interest is welcome (though papers on the Holocaust in film and
Central and European film should be submitted to the SAMLA sessions
devoted exclusively to these fields).

Abstracts should be 300-500 words long and participants should
anticipate reading at the session for no more than 15 minutes.
Abstracts should put forth a single and compelling thesis. Their
content should be original; work already published in print or on
the web will not be considered.

Please e-mail your abstracts to [log in to unmask] or post them
to Raphael Shargel, Providence College, Department of English, 549
River Ave., Library Room 110, Providence, RI 02906.

The deadline for submission is March 31, 2001.
