>& Lana Turner is easily available. The third and "unofficial" version
>OBSESSIONE by Visconti is not legally available in the US.
"Ossessione" might not be legally available (I understood that US rights were cleared in the 70s though Jessica knows this stuff best) but it's certainly easily available. You can rent or buy it from numerous online dealers and it's even at my local library and video rental stores.
By the way there are two other adaptations: First by Pierre Chenal in 1939 as "Le Dernier Tournant" (anybody here seen this? it's on non-subtitled video) and then by Gyorgy Feher (a Bela Tarr associate) in 1998 as "Szenvedely"/"Passion" which won several festival prizes.
