As a related note, see the episode of STAR TREK: NEXT GENERATION when
Troi became mysteriously pregnant, gave birth, watched her "child" grow
up and die all in the course of a day.  It could also be interesting to
compare to the monstrous pregnancy in Lar von Trier's TV series THE
KINGDOM.
