It isnt recent, but THE LADY FROM SHANGHAI's crippled lawyer who almost does
the Orson Welles' hero in -- part played by the estimable Everett Sloane --
is an unmistakeable reference to Satan. Cloved foot, so forth.  HRG MD ENDIT
