ANNOUNCEMENT

The Peter Rollins-Michael Schoenecke Travel
Grants for Graduate Students

The Endowment Fund for the Popular Culture Association and the American
Culture Association announces the availability of up to ten $200 awards to
graduate students proposing presentations for the national PCA/ACA conference
in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the Marriott Hotel, April 11-14, 2001.

Applicants can be either M.A. or Ph.D. level students and should submit a 250
word abstract for a presentation. A group submission for a panel or
roundtable discussion will also be considered, and an award could be made to
the group (of at least three presenters) or to each individual in the group.
The award will be in the form of a check made available in December, 2000.

Please submit applications to the Graduate Student Travel Grant Coordinator
listed below by no later than October 13, 2000. Applications can be
submitted by fax or by email, and receipt will be acknowledged.

Proposals will be evaluated on their clarity of purpose and focus, their
awareness of the scholarship in a field or the need for new research in a
popular culture studies field, the currency of the topic, and overall quality
of the proposed presentation.

Send proposals to:

terms of encouraging and supporting graduate student participation and
